Dense Fog Advisory for North and Central Texas

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM CST TUESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM CST TUESDAY.
* VISIBILITY...VISIBILITIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS LOW AS A FEW
HUNDRED FEET AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF FORT
WORTH. VISIBILITIES IN THE ADVISORY AREA ARE EXPECTED TO FALL TO
ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS IN BANKS OF FOG. VISIBILITIES ARE
EXPECTED TO CHANGE RAPIDLY...WITH AREAS OUT OF FOG BANKS HOLDING
ON TO VISIBILITIES ABOVE 3 MILES...WHILE AREAS IN FOG BANKS
QUICKLY SEE VISIBILITY REDUCED TO NEAR ZERO.
* IMPACTS... VISIBILITIES THIS LOW CAN CAUSE VERY DANGEROUS
DRIVING CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY ON HIGHWAYS WHERE FAST MOVING
VEHICLES MAY SEE VISIBILITY DROP TO NEAR ZERO WITH VERY LITTLE
WARNING. THE IMPACTS ON AREA ROADWAYS COULD BE WORSE THIS
EVENING WITH MANY PEOPLE TRYING TO REACH THEIR NEW YEARS EVE
CELEBRATION DESTINATION. IF YOU SEE THAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER
A FOG BANK WHILE TRAVELING...SLOW DOWN SO YOU DONT CRASH INTO
SLOW MOVING OR STOPPED TRAFFIC IN DENSE FOG!
